Artist Bio

A.J. is a photographer and art student living in Reno, Nevada. He is a veteran and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. His interest in photography began as a Recon Marine in 2004, when he learned to take pictures of military objectives at night using long exposure times. These experiences sparked his passion for using photography as a creative medium. Currently, he uses long exposure times, flash photography, and light painting techniques to create surreal art with dreamscapes and the distortion of time as his main themes.

A.J. is in his fourth semester at Truckee Meadows Community College and plans to transfer to the University of Nevada Reno in the fall of 2025. In addition to his long exposure work, he enjoys portrait photography, aiming to capture candid moments and raw emotions in a clean style that highlights the subject's natural beauty.
